As many in our world, Weezer's Blue album was a life-changing record for us, and defined an era of our lives. The opportunity to run creative for the highly-anticipated Black Album was a project with simple parameters to fill the criteria for all of Weezer's 'color' albums. 1. Define color. 2. Have all four band members on the cover. So then, our immediate vision was to see just how black we could get this cover. All black everything. There was only one solution, lets cover everything, including the band members, in massive amounts of cold black goo.
